Fixing-Upping

We have been working on fixing up our house. We scraped off the corkboard and then recreated the wall using wall-compound. We washed the windows. We painted two rooms, one ceiling and several doors today. We have done a fair bit of handywork around the house before as well. Now our confidence is building up to a point where we want to buy a fixer-upper (a small condo for starters) and see what we can do. A friend of Manisha's had a multi-family house in Worcester and made consistent money renting it out to med students. We will be moving soon to Berlin, MA and Worcester does not seem so far away.

House prices are funny. A studio apartment in the heart of Boston's university district costs you upwards of $250,000, whereas it goes for under $100,000 in Worcester's university area. Worcester is also New England's fastest growing city. So now we are really going to try to get to know Worcester better.
