Presidential Race Markets

I don't have a lot to say about the current race for the POTUS. Instead I'd like to guide you to the following links from the Iowa Electronic Markets. They trade futures based on the results of these elections. The rationale is that if you are putting down real money (as in betting), you are much more likely to be in tune with reality. "Who are you going to vote for?" is a different question from "Who do you think is going to win?". And if you add nominal sums of money (which is all IEM allows), you are even more likely to actually pay attention to reality. And this approach has worked remarkably well in previous races.

Here are the current prices of the futures markets in the POTUS race.

If, like me, you prefer this information and the price history in graphical format, go here and here.

Bookmark these and follow the markets instead of looking up poll numbers. They don't lie (by and large).
