Spore's the Word

I first came across Spore on the cover of IEEE Spectrum and the neat cover-story "Engineering Spore". I guess I had missed all the ads and promos on other media. Then we saw Spore at the Gamestop. I was intrigued and I said to Supriya, "I'd like to buy Spore for your 10th birthday in April." Now she was intrigued. After coming home she went online and found the Spore Creature Creator. Now both Supriya and Aseem were hooked and created many creatures with all kinds of wacky features. I suppose many of those would have been discarded on the junkpile by evolutionary forces anyway ("What? No mouth? How will you eat? Die, you evolutionary misfit...").

I just watched this little video on Youtube by Spore-creator Will Wright. It is certainly one of the most ambitious games - if you can call it that - with an incredible amount of science built-in I have come across. I know I am going to buy it for Supriya (yeah, right!) after we move to our new home.
